Best Free Tethering Software for Nikons and Macs

Recently we wanted to test tethering our Nikon D7000 to a Macbook Pro running Sierra. For those who don’t know what tethering is, it’s hooking up your camera to the computer. It allows us to view an image on the computer instead of through the view finder or LCD screen of the camera. This makes it easier to see what’s going on with an image. Having a bigger view of an image, it’s more likely we’ll see a mistake that we might miss on the smaller LCD or in the view finder of the camera…. Continue Reading

The White Dress

While shooting for our zed card, we found an amazing location that went perfectly with the beautiful white dress worn by Stephanie. Between the colors of the surroundings, the architecture of the location, and the design of the white dress, it gave the pictures a feeling that was sexy with a hint of elegance to it…. Desert Breeze Park Shoot

For our final shots of the day we decided to change pace from the beautiful architecture of Tivoli Village to Desert Breeze Park. The outfit we shot with was a bit more laid back and comfortable yet still attractive which fit nicely into the setting of the greenery of the surroundings. With the combination of colors, the setting of the park, and Stephanie’s look, there was a slight hint of a Snow White reminder going on…. Continue Reading

Flapper Girl – Set Three

Our third and final set of photos from our fun 1920’s photo shoot with Jenny. We had some fun and did a bit less color balancing with these photos, and instead kept a bit more of the color reflections from the surroundings under the multicolored lights. We also grabbed the boa feathers again for a few of the shots…. Continue Reading

Artsy Photoshoot

While shooting some photos for a zed card over at a local community spot, we caught the sun a bit too strongly in a couple of them. Although, upon reviewing the photos in camera we really liked what we captured. They were kind of artsy looking, with a bit of a dreamy look to them. We ended up taking several more trying to capture the same look and we were quite happy with how they turned out…. Continue Reading

Flapper Girl – Set Two

Our second set of photos during our flapper girl photo shoot with Jenny. Same location, same day, but shot without the boa this time around. Jenny tried some 1920’s dancing on the floor and then played a bit with the beads as we tried to have some fun with some different types of posing. She even took a moment to smell the roses…. Pay Per Click vs Organic Search Engine Marketing

Choosing between pay per click advertising and organic marketing on the web can be an easy choice for most businesses. Of course we all like the organic way. Who wants to pay for web traffic? The choice though isn’t that easy, and sometime depends on where your business is in the market. For most of us, going the organic route starting out isn’t going to be the way to go, especially if we want a quick start out of the gates with instant income…. Continue Reading

Why “I’ll Fix it in Post” is a Terrible Idea

“I’ll fix it in post!” If you’ve been around a movie set, particularly an indie film set, you’ve likely heard this phrase used. When you’re dealing with time limitations, missing props, or haven’t had the time to set the scene properly, the easy answer is to use those 5 simple words. We’d be lying if we said we’ve never used that phrase ourselves. Even after learning the hard way that those 5 words are evil, we’ve still found ourselves using them from time to time….
